The web design process starts with a free consultation. The consultation is meant to be a learning session about you, your business or organization, and what you want your website to do or say. During the consultation I will ask a series of questions designed to help me understand what it is you would like your site to represent or do.
The initial consultation should take between 1 and 2 hours. Prior to the consultation write down any questions you may have about the me, my process, or anything else that comes to mind.
After the initial consultation I will do some interactive and layout designs which we will use to comunicate how the site will look and behave. Once I've created a couple designs we will have an initial design meeting. Each design meeting will last an hour or two.
After we nail down the layout and interactive design, we need to come up with a color scheme and design theme. The color scheme is usually defined by 3 to 5 colors. I will provide you with a few choices. The color scheme can be based on what you've already expressed in our initial meetings or on the choices I provide, it's up to you.
This step is all for me! The markup and coding is what gets done behind the scenes. The length of this step will depend on the package you've chosen. A 5 page website can be coded rather quickly, but a 25 page site will take a bit longer.
After the site has been coded and is live, but before we release it to the world, we need to do some testing. I'll provide you with a user name and password to access the site which you can use to play around with the site and make sure everything is the way it should be.
Each page of your site (no matter which package you purchase) will be optimized for search engines. After we've tested it we can send Google and all of the other major search engines a heads up. After the site goes live we will sit down for a wrap up meeting. Depending on the package this might take an hour or it might take 4 hours.
After the site is completed and pulling in traffic for your business you may have monthly or even weekly updates to maintain. You obviously don't want to pay me everytime your site needs a paragraph updated and
